At a Glance

ACLEDA-Jardines Education Foundation (AJF) was established on May 4, 2017 with the ultimate objective of providing all the children of Cambodia the chance of an education. The AJF mandate initially covers primary education and has identified the provision of basic school building infrastructure as the first priority need. The AJF geographic scope covers the whole of Cambodia but will initially focus on the remote impoverished villages in Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, Oddar Meanchey, Mondul Kiri and Ratanak Kiri provinces.

The AJF is operated by three voluntary ACLEDA Bank employees though we would welcome external help to bolster our efforts.

The AJF plan to build a minimum of 2 school buildings a year and more if funding is available.

Below are some examples of the current impoverished nature of primary school facilities in remote areas of Cambodia. This is why the AJF was established to help the country's children obtain an education.

Vision, Mission and Strategy

Vision: To provide an equal opportunity for an education to all the children of Cambodia.

Mission: To raise money and to use each and every US$ raised to build schools in remote rural and impoverished urban areas.

Strategy: The AJF raise money from its parent and affiliated companies, individuals and corporate benefactors. All monies raised are managed and directed by professional Acleda and Jardine staff to ensure each US$ is spent specifically to achieve the AJF Vison. The initial locations for the school building projects will be in Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, Oddar Meanchey, Mondul Kiri and Ratanak Kiri provinces. Each village location chosen has an existing school but needs a permanent school structure to provide children access to an education to build and expand their quality of life. Each school project will be undertaken in consultation with the local authorities and with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport to ensure at a minimum, conformity with Cambodia's national curriculum and education system.

About the Founders

ACLEDA Bank Plc., Jardines, and Forte Insurance (Cambodia) Plc. management have become firm corporate friends and colleagues. We joined together with a common aim to help the children of Cambodia access an education. We are focused to ensure that our combined strength and dedicated efforts will help enthuse individuals and fellow corporate benefactors to join us in achieving our vision for the children of Cambodia. We are determined to make sure each and every US$ we raise we will be used to provide Cambodia's children access to an education for a better tomorrow.
